I'm pretty fond of Double-H myself, although I have a pair of Ariat that have lasted well too. I like the added traction of these over standard cowboy boots. Out of Ariat, justin, and Moreria (Mexican brand) the Double-H were the most comfortable outta the box imho. I don't necessarily need my knife and boots to match,I just need them both to be able to work hard👍
Also Double-H are 100% USA made if that matters to you.🤠👍

These justin conductor's I wear for work are as close as I get to cowboy boots, I just can't wear a pull on or wellington.

My great uncle is a rancher up in Kansas, and he always said real cowboy boots have a Kiltie anyways.
That's just one man's opinion, but it works for me.

I even added kilties to my thorogood 1892 series Tomahawks, gotta have something nice to wear on Christmas.

The cognac Horween Chromexel looks so great when new, and it doesn't take long to develop nice character.

That Horween leather is great stuff isn't it? We use quite a bit of it. Here's a tidbit for ya. At the start of the Tom Brady deflateagate scandal the first call the NFL made was to Horween to see if they had changed the tannage on the leather used on the footballs. They hadn't.

Anyhoo, took a break from the shop and ran down the hill and picked up my Twisted X boots with their new heels:

Older guy runs the shop, very little English but man does he do great work. Worth the two hour round trip. Me back at it:

Since I had good luck with my first Twisted X knife purchase (which I can't show here (Trapper Lock)), I went ahead and ordered another one. I couldn't resist the Acrylic handles with the Serape pattern. Blades are centered, smooth action, good snap, no wobble, and decently ground. Edges and transitions are smooth, has a decent Fit n Finish, but the back spring is a little gappy. Definitely a budget knife but still a fun one to carry.

Thats cool. I've never messed with that arrowhead basket stamping much.

Well ya know what Dale Harwood use to say. The difference between a great saddlemaker and a good saddlemaker is the great one is better at hiding the mistakes.
I like that.
I miss making saddles.
But it's such a money and time investment.
Maybe when I retire I'll find the energy to do it again.
Here's an award roping saddle I made for a benefit roping...
