Twitch XL

Received my Twitch XL today and it feels a little gritty when opening. I would like to add a drop of lubricant....can anyone recommend anything? Is plain old WD40 ok or should I try some silicone spray, etc? Any info appreciated.

72shorty, sometimes they need breaking in, not often but sometimes. Don't add oil yet, work the blade for a while without any oil. It seems to smooth out any slightly rough spots quicker without oil. Then after several hundred openings (doesn't take long), add a few drops of light weight oil in the pivot area.

I would never put WD, it makes the knife stink, and it will end up in your pocket and on your hands and clothes. Just add a good oil like Zebco reel oil or something similar. Walmart sells this oil in a tube in the fishing section for a little over a buck. I have used it for years on almost anything with small moving parts.

Thanks Robbie. I'll give it a good workout before adding oil. I've got quite an assortment for my guns, so shouldn't be an issue if needed.
