Two Big Honkin'© bowies... :)

Sounds good, man. There's a soft spot in my heart for the big 'uns.
I didn't expect the balance point to be quite that close though. Did ya use a lot of distal taper? Would you say it chops better at the tip, or at the belly? I expect it's pretty fast in the hand.

Would you really use a bowie like this, or are you just wondering purely hypothetically, I can't even imagine using it, well, OK, I can fantasize about weilding it, but I could never use something like this, too nice.

I'd start chopping wood with this bowie right after I wallpaper my bathroom with original oil paintings from the great masters. :)

Hell yes I'd use it! And HARD!
My big Bowie I mentioned earlier-
It is just a "beater"- I didn't get fancy with the materials or finish, but I still have a lot of time in it. I've already sharpened/destroyed over 1/4" of steel off the last third of the edge.

You're a better, braver man than I, I could never use something as nice as this bowie is, I just can't do it, I've tried. :)

Ari
make room in your safe my friend ;)

the Damascus on this blade must be seen in person to appreciate..the handle is from an artifact ice axe..and will blow your mind..it is mystical.
the edge will slice tomatoes chop 2x4's slice mo tomatoes chop 2x4's and still pop hair..Don has made a KNIFE...now if I think about it anymore I'll start weeping.. bow your head and begin Worshiping her she commands that.

Riad, if you weren't a man, I'd kiss you, oh hell, who cares, get over here you.... :)

I didn't even know that the ivory handle was from a tool, how cool is that, talk about recycling! :) What was once a tool, is again, a tool.

But, please tell me you didn't actually slice tomatos with it.

It can cut through this soda can, and still slice these tomatos... :)

Riad, if you can, please email me, we need to talk. :)

Ari

When Don pulled the knife out of the case after I handed it back to him we BOTH looked at it in astonishment. I think it grows in the dark! Such an impressive piece.

I agree 100% on the damascus needing to be viewed (not seen). It like a motion picture with the waves.... :)

Congrats, Ari. Don is going to send it to you ASAP. He will probably have a few more orders for similar after his successful weekend. (He is doing GREAT as of friday eve)
