What do you carry and why? Here's a few of mine. Large blade for wood processing, chopping, shelter building, etc. Small blade for camp chores and finer work; feather sticks and the like. Also, how do you carry them? In a pack? Combo sheath? Separate sheaths?

These days my survival training consists of practice and keeping the skills sharp. Mostly camping and bushcrafting. Hard to define a favorite combo. Winter I prefer the carbon blades but summers here are brutal hot and 80% humidity, so stainless finds it way in on most trips.

My 3 blade combo. Esee Junglas, Esee 6, and Esee Izula II.

Nice, who did your kydex? I'm considering some much needed replacements and I'm really digging the bdu camp...

The kydex is all me startegy9. All handmade by me in my shop for each blade. No cnc's. No waterjets. Handmade in the U.S.A. with all U.S.A. made components. No skimping. No shortcuts. No aluminum. All brass and black oxide alloy steel hardware. Marine grade spacers. All heavy duty .080 or .090 kydex. Rounded, buffed, polished, and sealed seams.

So where are the pics of your two knife rigs? Or just the two knives you carry when in the woods etc?

awesome blades :D

Thank you. Yessir, they are. Having the right blade in the woods makes a huge difference. Looking forward to someone posting some pics soon.

Nice sheaths! They're so clean!

Doesn't 2 knives feel heavy on one side? Bark river sheaths are designed so that the smaller ones can be attached to the larger ones. I tried that and found it was too much weight on one side.

Not really for me. I carry my Glock on the other side in a custom cross draw holster (yes I made that too - ;)). It balances out the weight and I'd rather have what I need and a little extra weight. With a big knife, a small knife, and a fire steel, you can do a lot of things in the woods. Most will laugh but a pair of suspenders works like magic. I'm there to enjoy the outdoors, have the basic tools I need for that and not make a fashion statement. I could care less about the suspenders. They WORK and are a tool like anything else.

That's why you strap that rig to your pack, Gitarmac ! Then when you get to camp, belt up the little one.

Beautiful work yet again by Hale Storm.

Thanks again Velitrius.

Everything I build is Molle compatible. If your pack has PALS webbing, get two Molle Locks and they will bolt right up to my sheaths. Slide on and off the pack with ease. They all fit Large Tek Loks as well.

So, am I the only one that is going to post pics? I was hoping to see some other rigs. Where are the Beckerheads. Busse clan? Customs? Gerber guys ;)?

Here's another option: Carry 3 knives!!!

Wow! I only saw them on my phone earlier, they look even more awesome on a real screen. Better than anything I've seen commercially made.

Thank you gitarmac. Unlike the commercial makers, I have a real career job and do this on the side so I can take the time to make it right and pay attention to the details. I've been custom bending kydex for 3 years now and have some great customers. Funny just now thinking about the few who've seen me here and commented on my work. No one knows who I am. LOL

Great sheath maker here! I've been using the same one he made me for my bk14 for almost 2 years now I believe. Great guy!

Nice sheaths. Just joined the forum looking for info on an Rtak I just bought. Also bought a Rat7 which will be my new belt knife. The pocket on the sheath is big enough for a small pocket knife, fire rod and sharpening stone.

Just a stock sheath but functional and well made.

Nice set up bore. Thanks for posting.

Did you get the 1095 or 5160 version on the Rat 7?

That's what I'm trying to find out. I bought both the RTAK and Rat7 used from the same person. He got them as gifts about 2011 or 12. The RTAK has no markings at all on it. There's a pic in the Ontario section. Just learning about these knives so any infos appreciated :)

Not carrying but prepped for urban survival:

Do carry the Leatherman Charge in my EDC Falcon-II backpack along with these two:
