Two broken feet = the suck

I have a jone fracture of my right metarsel. From stessing my left foot so much I've got a stress fracture of my right foot. Total bummer. I'm in a wheelchair for a month.

Not life altering in the long run and I try not to feel sorry for myself when so many have it worse, but it is a major bummer. Got a bed downstairs, can't stand up without strapping the casts on both feet and can't "walk" even with crutches and casts.

Also a bummer at work, just because my job is hard enough (for me) without these distractions. Two of my partners had prostate cancer and never stopped working, so I feel like a wimp too!

Hang tough there, Shann. You'll get through it. Still sucks, though. Smoke and prayers for the tootsies.

Smoke going up, Shann. Feel free to complain here if you need to. Take care of yourself.

Smoke up. Limited mobility situations are never comfortable. I second Aardvark; if you need to complain, we're here. You bring the whine, I'll bring some good cheese. Stay off 'em so they heel.

Sorry to hear about your foot fractures, Shann. Hope you get them healed up soon. Best wishes.

Hang in there. I just finished a stretch of six months in a wheel chair with a shatered foot. I missed all the hunting seasons last year. I can walk now but only when I wear the custome hunting type boots that the VA made for me. Man it feels good to walk again.

I know how frustrating it can be It's a real love/hate thing with the wheelchair. Hate being confined to it, but imagine if you didn't have one, you'd be confined to going nowhere. Patience, patience, heal up and put this behind you.

I feel for you Shann! I've been really fortunate to have avoided that particular bullet although I did have to have a wheel/transport-chair to get into and out of the hospital and doctors office's a couple of times because the pinched nerves in my neck wouldn't allow me to move properly over that long of a distance. Just be as patient as possible and stay off your feet so they will heal as fast as possible!!!!

I've broken several bones in my right foot three times. The last two, I don't even bother casting up. I just have to walk a little sidways when going uphill..and try not to grimace when the crunch click comes.

But two of them is too much.
You can limp on one, but only hobble on two! Get well.

This may sound strange...drink milk?

Prayers from HI and Kamis, get well soon

what kind of chocolate do you like? i'll send you some to fatten you up while you heal.

Thanks, but please don't! I weight 325 and the doc says that's part of the problem.

Although I have been totally sedentary lately, I don't think I've gained any weight because its too hard to get into the wheel chair and raid the fridge!

I'm going to use this as an impetus to change my physical life, less food, more excercise as soon as I can get up. Gives me something to shoot for and look forward to.

Good for you, Shann! Good luck, and we're here for you if you need the support.

That's tough...could be worse. I'd rather have broken feet than prostate cancer.

Hang in there. Now would be a great time to exercise that upper body.

Best wishes. heal fast.

Wow,

sorry to hear about this.

Big changes can be tough, but notable events like this can make it easier. I need to make several changes in my life. I'll be praying for you!
