Two broken feet = the suck

Good news! Doc says my right foot is healing very well, but warned my not to get too excited. My left foot, he didn't seem to concerned about at all because it didn't have a "jones" fracture which he said are a b*tch to heal.

Still in the wheel chair for 2 more weeks, but I have permission to drive and to stand up on crutches so I can manuever myself and the chair into the car. Now I don't have to depend on my Mom and my Wife to drive me everywhere.

I'm so bored, its amazing. But at least there is progress. Thanks for all your well-wishes.

Time to practice levitating. ;) Hope everything heals well - it's definitely worth some time off of your feet to make sure they come back to 100%.

Well, today is the first day in over a month that I'm out of the wheelchair. I'm on crutches with a boot on the right foot and just a sneaker on the left. My right foot feels fine but that was the one the doctor was worried about. The left one hurts a bit, hopefully, nothing serious.

Off to the doctor tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully, everyhing is healing and just a matter of a couple more weeks on crutches.

Smoke up for continuing healing. It's good that you aren't rushing it.

That's good Shann!  :D Just go easy on the crutches until you get broke into them as they have a tendency to kill your shoulders, armpits, arms, and other parts of your anatomy until you get used to them and build up the muscles affected!!!! :( ;)

Update, now about 10 weeks from originally breaking the right foot and about 7 weeks from stress fracture in the left. I'm out of the wheelchair full time. Doctor says I don't really need the crutches but I should use them when walking a lot or on uneven ground.

He says that I will have some residual pain for another month or so, but I can walk "normally" and won't need PT. No running\jumping\impact type stuff for another month, but after 5 weeks in a wheelchair, I can barely walk so I need a month to build up my strength again. He recommends a lot of stationary biking for the next month or so. I think I'm going to start going to the gym tomorrow or friday.

Thanks to everyone for their support and letting me vent a little. I might even be able to get out in the woods and do a little bird hunting in a couple of weeks.

Shann

Glad to hear that you up and out of the chair, Shann. Take it easy and get recuperated:thumbup:

Yup, what Jake said. Don't do like I did and try to get around too much too early. I wanted to go to the zoo three days after this last surgery, which will be two weeks and three days tomorrow and it was just a bit too soon. We walked a good half mile total but usually walk at least a mile and a half or two but I got lightheaded at 1/4 mile and we turned around and left.
I was glad too get back to the car and we haven't gone back yet although I have been on some short walks.;)

Sounds like swimming would be great for you. Great exercize and low impact.
Hang in there and don't push yourself too hard.
