These two knives were a bit of an experiment for me. I've been carrying a little kiridashi similar to these for the last month and it has turned out to be just about the handiest knife I've ever had, but I wanted to try doing some simple carving and piercing to liven up the design a bit. I figure if you're going to wear a knife around your neck for the whole world to see, it might as well look cool

A quick note on the sheaths: Whenever I show pictures of one of my neck knives someone inevitably asks me how the sheath works. The sheaths are completely open at the front so the whole knife is visible while wearing it. In all of these pictures the knife is actually IN the sheath. Two small rare earth magnets hold the blade in a recess in the front of the sheath. Unlike a lot of neck sheaths these are very secure because the knife can't slide down. You remove the knife by pulling straight out away from your body. Putting the knife back in the sheath is extremely quick and simple as well since the magnets will guide the knife into the recess in the sheath once the blade is within a half inch or so of the sheath. I can grab my neck knife, make a cut and put it away in about the time it takes me to get my other knife out of my pocket.
Thanks for looking.
