#1: Custom Yvsa Cherokee Special (YCS) kukri, from the second build cycle in 2004-2005, which were offered in a variety of handle materials:
http://s380.beta.photobucket.com/us... Sales/Yvsa Cherokee Specials - November 2012
(Ignore the red/purple chandan handled YCS which has been sold; this sale is for the Osage Orange handled blade only.)
18.5" and 32 oz. YCS by Kumar, with rare Osage Orange chiruwa handle with inlay; comes with a black buffalo-hide leather scabbard and 2 large matching wood companion YCS Kardas and awl. (Note that this scabbard did not come with a frog). Correct standard (non-habaki) bolster and full polished blade.
The knife is new, unused, uncarried and unsharpened. There is no edge to the tang or the pommel where it meets the wood, so no shrinkage. The Osage Orange was USA supplied material to the HI Kamis, and has gorgeous grain.
The pictures speak for themselves, and these incredible HI's with this level of quality are long out of production.
$295 + $15 Priority Mail Shipping & Insurance
#2: See 5 attached pics; Old school 20” 28 oz Sirupate from Raju Rasili (Amtrak), with black buffalo horn handle, that was made long before I joined the forum in late 2003. Uncle Bill pulled it from his storage shed for me as I was looking for this style sometime in the Spring of 2004.
RR-Amtrak uses the Flyflot (Swastika some people incorrectly call it) kami mark. It’s hard to see as the pics were taken before the sun was up, but the handle has some nice white feathering in the horn. Inlaid sword of shiva, and a perfect slightly heavier blade as all the old school ones were. Just 4 oz. shy of two pounds. Handle to blade alignment is perfect.
Comes with the standard black buff hide scabbard, but has the old style “HI Superfrog” that you could lift weights with. Very much overbuilt at the time, and stitched up using very heavy leather in answer to the cheaper rivets the early shops used that always rusted and sometimes split the leather.
Knife is also new, unused, uncarried and unsharpened.
$160 + $15 Priority Mail Shipping & Insurance
