I have two small Craftsman axes with nice leather sheaths. I purchased them here about six months ago from billy blade and have not used them. I am asking SOLD for the shorter handle (Hatchet #1 in the description below) and $70 SOLD for the longer handle one (Hatchet #2 in the description below). I accept PayPal and USPS Money Orders, prices include shipping , not looking for trades unless it is a Gransfos Burks ax. Here is billy blade's description:
These have been refurbished by me and are looking for a little chopping work. Both have nice patina (a fancy word for cleaned up rust and used)
.
Hatchet 1 has the original length handle that was re-seated. I thinned down the handle below the head, removed steel wedge, re-seated head, cut a wedge slit parallel with head cutting edge and installed new oak wedges. Handle is finished with BLO. It is sharp but could use a little final touch up. This one comes with a tan leather sheath made by me.
Hatchet 2 is a head that I hung on a hand carved Hickory handle that is about 3 inches longer than original. It feels real good in hand and in my opinion is a better length for these little guys. It comes with a Oak wedge, hand made dark brown sheath. It will need to be sharpened.
Hatchets specs:
#1) 10" OAL, 2 1/8" long cutting edge and 3 3/4" long head.
#2) 12 3/4" OAL, 2 1/4" long cutting edge and 3 3/4" long head.
Here are some pictures:
