When I teach a basic bladesmithing class I usually end up with a couple of knives that I build myself to demonstrate forging and heat treating procedures. Here are two from a class I taught last week end: basic tools without embellishments but good working knives.
First is a light weight knife that will make a great hunter or back pack knife and with it's thin design would also work well in the camp kitchen.
Forged from 1/8 inch 1095
Flat grind
Forged texture on the flats
Curly maple handle
Overall length: 8 3/4 inches
Blade: 4 3/8 inches
Leather scabbard with belt loop
$90 SOLD delivered to the US or Canada. My PayPal account and email is gldrewknives@gmail.com
