Hey everyone! Brian here with Circle A Blades and I have two edc knives I made out of 1/8" 1095. I made one of these quite some time ago for myself as a test blade and have been carrying it ever since....love it!
These knives are normalized three times, brine quenched then given two 1 hour temper cycles for hc of 60. Hair popping, paper slicing sharp with almost full height flat grind and convex edge.
First one is Zebra wood with brass hardware, maroon "mycarta" liner and a pretty cool hamon. I am a bad speller, but didn't spell that wrong! I soaked sweatshirt material in epoxy, added it as the liner and clamped the handle on until dry.
OAL of 8&5/8"
and a 4" edge.
1&11/16" at widest part!
Sheath pictured is included!
Second is the peel ply black g10 with flared 1/4" stainless tubing and maroon "mycarta" liner.
OAL is 8&3/8"
and a 3&7/8" edge.
1&5/8" at widest part.
Instead of differential heat treat, I did a full hardening of the blade, brought it to a mirror polish, splotched it with a resist then etched the entire blade. Can only attach 5 pics so pics of it will be in the next comment.
