Hello All,
Decided to thin the herd a little. Here are two great ferrier's knives made by a fellow Maine Knifemaker and friend Nick Rossi. I purchased these from him a few years ago in Freeport, Me at the knife store where he works. They're not a set, but they sure could be.

Here's the specs:
Bowie:
13" OAL with an 8" long blade, 3/16 thick. Flat grind. Handle is 5". Dark brown (walnut looking) wood. This thing takes and holds a VERY sharp edge.

Smaller knife:
7 1/2" long with a blade just over 3" by 3/16" thick. Hollow ground. Handle is 4" long. Dark wood, almost olive in color. This one also takes and holds a wicked edge.

Both knives have red liners. The flame coloring from tempering has been left in tact on the spine and ricasso. Both come with a very nice heavy leather sheath also made by Nick.
Also, Bowie has sharpened swedge, small knife has unsharpened false edge.

You arent kidding about sharpness. That bowie was, without a doubt, the sharpest knife of that size I've ever seen. Do you get up our way often?

I'll tell Nick you said hi. I should be down that way in a week or two.

Nice knives! Mostly I like the bowie:thumbup:. I wish I could afford it but, it is out of budget:(. Are they completely unused?

No, they've been used a little. No marks to speak of though. Bowie has one small dark spot on the left side near the tip. It was there when I bought it. I think its a leftover from its previous life.

Scott... your friend makes great looking knives. I'm really surpised we don't see more people making knives out of files. I'm grabbing all the files I can get cheap because they make a darn fine knife.
