Two for our mods

Andy, great job on these! I wish you continued success with your knifemaking. One of these days I hope to purchase one from you.

And I too am sorry to read that your regular employment is gone (when did this take place?) ~ you KNOW I feel for you!
 
A week ago Friday. I'm trying to stay positive. Plus, there is nothing I can really do about it.
 
Andy, if you keep banging out knives and running your business the upfront and honest way that you have been, I have no doubt that this lay off is going to be nothing more than a catalyst that will springboard you into some real business. :thumbup:

Even if you have to get a 9-5 once the economy turns around, you'll still have this gift of having time to hone your craft. While many, many others can do nothing but mope and hope when they lose their job, you have a real marketable skill that can at least slow the financial bleeding for the time being.

You're going to be OK. I know it:thumbup::D
 
The first week went well. We'll see how this week pans out. Right now my Father in Law is here, and he loves working in the shop, so I have free labor! Woohoo!

And Andy that handle design looks like one on a certain HI Bowie or am I badly mistaken? ;) :D

Edit: One'a these days you'd think I'd learn not to post anything after a certain time... :rolleyes:

I forgot too add how cool these two knives are! And I'm with Jake when it comes to carrying a larger knife, yeah they sometimes have a couple of disadvantages but generally a larger knife/knives have a much larger advantage... :D

Thanks Yvsa. I haven't held a Cherokee Rose, but they are similar, and they're is no telling how deeply HI is ingrained in my sub conscience. They are kinda similar, huh?

John, you read my mind, brother. As soon as I picked up Andy's knife, I immediately thought of how a painstakingly worked handle would improve the chunkyness of that knife. I'm giddy at the thought of it:):thumbup:

I've been so wrapped up in stuff, I hadn't even thought about it...but my last day teaching is the 28th. It's possible...

Jake,

I have a couple of knives that need good workouts. The other is a DL Knives Landshark. I need to get out and get active.

I finally got the knife from the PO Monday. It's definitely a winner. It'll be awhile before I can do any photos, everything is still in boxes. :grumpy:
