Took a little while, but I made 6 more of these smaller forged EDC style blades. Four were spoken for and these two are available. Both are 1084 steel, forged, quenched and tempered. The edge quench and light etch really show the transition line in both. The top one has a birdseye maple handle and the bottom one is bocate. Both have brass pins. Both will come with a custom fitted sheath. Spec's are:

Width: 13/16"
Thickness: 3/32"

You starting to scratch that itch! :o

nice grain on both those woods, mmmm! Birdseye Maple love that look and feel.

Arrrggggghhhhhh!! I shoulda just went in my pants I missed this AGAIN! :D Rick, if you have a mailing list, kindly could you put me on it? I'd like a crack at one of these. They are the bees knees IMO. Thanks. mmcantu (at) sbcglobal.net

I liked the Maple too but the size of the 3" blade is what I wanted. This will be a user and that is my favorite length for EDC.

Yep. "Cutlery Pruritis" has struck me again. :D

Blade size I would have done the same thing.

That Bocate wood is nice, I seen some before, it's a dense wood with great grain like on the one you bought. I am actually surprised in doesn't show up more often.

Thanks to everybody for the purchases and comments. I'm going to try and have another set done in about two weeks.
Rick

I just received my EDC knife today and it is every bit as nice as the pictures look. Great feel in the hand and exellent blade/handle length ratio. The sheaths are really nice too. Rick's knives have a lot of personality and are a very good value.

Thanks, Rick!

I have to agree with everything Geode says about his knife. Great little knife. I'll probably have to have another one of these.
Thanks Rick

Got mine today, also! Great little knife. Only problem is the wife intercepted the package and called to thank me for ordering the great paring knife for her! Hurry, need a few more of these!
Thanks!
Travis

My sincere thanks for the comments. Sure glad everybody likes what they bought. That's my goal. Got the forge hot this afternoon and started some more.

Travis, tell your wife these aren't dishwasher safe, but I keep two in the kitchen myself. Just rinse and wipe dry. Find another one you like for yourself.

Rick

If my GF would take care of a knife I'd get her one but I caught her putting a really nice santoku in the dishwasher.
"You never told me...." etc.
She'll have to get by on what she bought from Wally World.
