Two Good and Ten Blems for 9/28

EMS for the mustang knife. I also asked Auntie if she had another Thamar Tin Chirra, and she did, so that will complete my Thamar trifecta (Yek, Dui, and Tin Chirra khukuris) :D

Hey mopar, let me know what you find when you get that thing. I'm just curious as heck what that is on the blade. Don't look like rust to me. I got a feeling it's gonna come right off. Hope so anyhow.
Congrats on your trifecta, they be sweet.

Pretty nice looking khuks this evening. They should make someone very happy. Not rust? Could it be blood stain from a mouthy customer? Perhaps someone reached once too often for the mo-mos? Maybe Bawanna cleaned out his ears while visiting Mrs. Martino? Curious minds want to know...at least those that live in Corn Patch do..

Thank you nzedge - i already have my HI allotment for this month, but keep eyeballing that Manakamana. Tomorrow i would have been weak, so I owe you one

EMS sent on the Manakamana special. May be too late. We shall see

I'm with Umi, hopefully you snag it. I've been eying it since it was listed. Sure is a very keen looking piece, I knew nothing of them until seeing this one. I have fingers crossed for you!

If nzedge falls thru, i wont shark it Bigbore, i insist you got second

No probs, yea im doing if for you guys :D

I also know nothing of the Manakamana. Just looks like a nice piece, and I really like my HI Tin Chirra, so figured I cant go wrong!

Pictures for the handle repair on Gelbu Special and Gopte about half finished as described previously on this thread.

That Gelbu looks like it has a really deep fuller. I have an old one by Rajkumar but it doesnt look that deep. Its more like Sirupati but still cool. Inoculation! Ewwww No. Your probably right but this is one disease I can live with;)

Dog, you are correct. The fuller is very deep and extends from the very edge of the spine to the beginning of the edge bevel. The symmetry is quite impressive. I can only imagine the weight differential if the fuller was not incorporated.

I think mine is an 18" but id love to have a 21" with a deep fuller like yours. I wouldnt even mind if you could see through it:D I think it as an awesome design. They are choppers designed to take advantage of speed rather than weight but being light they make good of some other desirable characteristics of a fast blade like cutting light springy vines and twigs etc. but they still have the obtuse strong AK edge for chopping. Really ingenious design. You have to compensate slightly for the angle of attack on the lighter stuff as compared to Chitlangi or some other thinner edged models but it is easy to get used to. It just bites at a bit higher angle thats all.
