I guys! I do appreciate the one-hand knife but I always use both hands when looking at a folder. Watching peeps doing the one-hand thing can get annoying. Can anyone relate?

One hand opening can be very handy when working (when I often carry one), but flipping just for the sake of flipping is tiresome.

If you are flipping then you are obviously not working. So why are you waving a knife around?

I have a friend who just said to me that he noticed that I use two hands when looking at a folder. Yep.
And, how could I open my AGR Cowboy with one hand?

I like being able to open one handed when I'm working and really using my blade constantly. I've never understood the need to flick a blade open and don't use this method even when opening one handed. Most of the time lately I have no need for one handed opening.

Using both hands to open a knife is not very tacticool ! I bet your knives are not even mil-spec....:D

Not used a knife 2-handed since around 2000 or so. Of course that's due to a disabilty :)

I flip my Benchmade Axis locks and William Henry button locks open and shut. I is very fast and convenient, but I only do it when I have to cut something.

I like Ninjas. :D
I guess it just puzzled me watching this guy fumble with some folders he was looking at when he has two good hands.
By all means, a one-hand knife is the all around way to go.

BTW, I did not realize what forum we were in until now. :o

Sorry folks, too much flipping for traditional.

I love your posts but your avatar frightens me to death.

Some of my recent favorites I love to carry are two handed without even the one handed option. One handed would be better and easier for me since I use a cane if I am standing. But for some reason in recent months the ones I like to carry most have to be opened two handed. It requires me to prop up the cane for a second (and hope I don't trip) but for some reason I really like this "traditional" opening method.

Just ordered one of those Lansky "world legal" knives, another two hander.

I don't understand a need to flick a knife shut, you'll eventually cut off something you wanted to keep. I sometims flick knives open just because I can, but that is only for fun. For actual use I don't do any flicking. I do however really like one-hand operation and sometimes when I'm working I actually have to use the knife one-handed. I have a few lockback knives and those I do have to operate two-handed.

Do you know people who flick knives SHUT???? That just sounds dangerous. Maybe I don't know enough about it, but I hope no one here does that, even our most avid flippers.

Thanks, gang.
Thanks, RedLynx. No need to fear spiders.
I have memories of my Dad using his knife, a Case Stockman. He'd just slowly pull that folder from his pocket, open it up, use it, close it and put it back in his pocket. I think he still has that knife.
btw, on occasion I carry my balisong but it is strictly for utility, no dancing.
