I have been focusing on hidden tangs lately, and had these sitting on my shelf ready for handles.

The first one is San Mai. The outer layer is a low carbon high nickel steel and the core is 1084. The spine is fileworked and I have left the forge scale on the flats.

The bolster is black and blue G10 and the handle is bone. It is all held together with pins and acraglas.

The sheath is 8-9oz hand stitched and hand tooled leather from Wickett and Craig. The sheath holds the knife snugly, and allows it to draw easily.

Dimensions
Blade - 4 1/2" tip to handle
OAL - just over 9 1/4"

Price - $320 SPF shipped to US. I prefer paypal but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

The next one is a similar style knife with the exception that is forged from some of Hanson's W2 steel and clay quenched for a very bold hamon.
The blade is also left with the forge scale on the flats. The spine of this one is also fileworked.

The handle is some really nice Ironwood. It is also held in place with peened pins and acraglas.

The sheath is 8-9oz hand stitched and tooled leather.

Dimensions
Blade - 4 3/4" tip to handle
OAL - 9 1/4"

Price - SOLD shipped to US

Here is a shot with different lighting to show off the hamon.

Matt,

Can you be a bit more specific on the low carbon high nickel used for the outside layers of your sanmai?
