Two Jack Knives, Four Weeks *Terminated*

Mayonardo Mayonardo I too started the very same day as you with the very same tortoise shell acrylic 86, but am trying to commit to carrying for a year. Ive been carrying and using my 92 in stag since 2019 sometime and I really love it but just kinda wanted to try something else.
Its been 5 days with the 86 and while I like it and the very thin ground clip blade the thickness of it is almost clumsy while the 92 is slim and agile. So far i miss my 92....but then again its not a new knife:)

P.S. Prayers for you and hope all goes well.

thanks for your kind wishes.

I think that new knives are like that. The 86 is undoubtedly a thick, heavier knife but that’s all in the eye (or hand) of the user. You will get used to it and the 92 will feel funny.

But it’s a good knife for everyday use and that clip is thin and fine. I’m interested in how this goes for you. Please keep us updated.

I was discussing this with my daughter who reminded me that with my upcoming chemo infusion sessions and the recovery time between, I’m not going to have the time or, perhaps inclination, to keep up with a long term project like this. She is right. As much as I want to do this, I will have to call a halt to my project. Perhaps I can think up something that better fits my life these days. Thanks for all your encouragement. I will read and post now and then.
I’m sorry to hear about your ailment, and wish you well with your upcoming treatments. For what it’s worth, I carried the same knife through all of my cancer care appointments and for each chemo infusion - and this in a big city facility. It’s a pretty special knife to me, even though I rarely carry it now that I’m, hopefully, in a better place. Best of luck to you! Please feel free to reach out if I can help in any way.

Thank you for your offer. Doing ok right now, another infusion coming up on Wednesday. This is my second round through chemo (different drug this time) number 12 in total so far.
