well I have been conquering my fear of bolsters lately. I always thought it would be harder to do.

these are both 3/16" 5160, they are more trad looking than what I normally do ,but I thing that they turned out nice. the second one has dovetailed bolsters ( my first ones :D ) that is why they have a cool upward crest on the sides of the handles.

Prices: $105 each, price includes paypal and shipping in the US. sheaths not includes.

#1 sold, 3/16 5160,black canvas Micarta, hand rubbed finish, brass bolsters, brass liners, OAL 9 3/4", 4 1/4" edge.

#1 is still available.

Josiah those are fantastic work! If the furniture was SS, they'd have sold in an instant. Its a shame that there is a stigma on brass.

But bro, your work is REALLY sweet nowadays!

really? I never new that. I alway liked brass more, I have a ton of 416ss. I should have used that I guess.

Yea, do a search in the makers, or in the collectors area. Brass is avoided basically. I have a bunch that sits around, or gets used for jigs.

Its a shame really, but knives will sit around if they have brass on them. I don't even use it for pins anymore.

thanks for the info. I always liked the look of brass more, I guess I will use ss in the future. not that it really matters, I don't care much for making these kind of traditional looking blades. I like the tactical beater look more.

I recently received knife #2 with the dovetailed bolsters and could not be more pleased with it. The workmanship is impeccable, fit and and finish near flawless and FWIW I purchased it because I am a sucker for brass bolsters. That brass and maroon micarta are a perfect match.

Thanks for a great knife Josiah and best of luck with the Navy.
