Here are two well made China knives. First one in the pic is a bowie, a Smith and Wesson bowie made in China. First iteration of this knife and is several years old. 440c, black tough coat(feels almost sandpaper-ish). Rubber handle that is very comfortable, full tang and actually a very nice sheath. Comes with a small wide diamond hone that is carried in a pouch on the sheath and that is unused as well. Actually the knife is pretty decent too. Some U tube vids from a few years ago of folks using this bowie as a camp knife and held up well. It has a hollow ground blade if that makes a difference to anyone. Never used, just kept in the sheath. Shows some faint marks on the coating from removing the knife on occasion. It is very sharp and well made and CHEAP! $40 plus $6.50 to ship USPS Priority Mail and I ship fast. PP or m.o.
Next is a MEGA folder I bought years ago, Taylor brands Schrade line. The story as I remember is that when Taylor acquired Schrade they shipped the parts etc. to China. These were assembled in China but of American parts. I don't know if that is true or not, the box it came in is labeled China but nothing on the knife indicates where it was actually made, assembled etc. If someone is familiar please clue me in. Anyways I bought it on a lark and think it was around $60 or so. I will say it would make a great display piece for a knife case or to hang on a shop wall. The knife is no joke either. Blades are nice and sharp, very even grinds. There is no half stop but very smooth to open and the quality of build is EXCELLENT and I kid you not. Blades are ground very well, lock up is excellent as well too. Liners are brass and nothing sticks up off the back of the knife when it is closed. Just nice and smooth and well done in the fit and finish dept. Has the box, oil paper wrapping and that's it. So $60 is what I paid if I recall and that is what I want, plus $6.50 shipping.
I ship fast and use USPS. I take pp or a m.o.
