Two leaf spring fighter/scalpers......

Silicon is the element, somewhere in between a metal and non-metal , that's why it's a semiconductor and used in transistors. Silica is silicon dioxide, SiO2, used to make sand which is then used to make sandpaper, sandcastles, concrete, glass, etc. Silicone is a compound and used to make oils, greases, waxes, rubber which in turn are used to make sealers, implants and a large number of other things. Developed during WWII for seals ( as in gaskets).......Our standard silicon spring steels are 9254, 9255, 9260, there are other standard ones in other countries with other nunbering systems.
