Here, just back from Paul Long's Dress Salon, are a pair of 3 1/2 inch Swirl Damascus, frame handled, Personal Carry Hunters. One is in Pre-Ban Elephant Ivory, the other in extremely rare "Birdseye" African Blackwood.

Both have "Frame" handles with file-worked collars, and multi-piece file-worked frames in stainless steel.

Those are Alligator inserts in the P L Mini-sheaths.

Muddy and Phillip:
I'm adding, at least temporarily, a photo showing the "Birdseye" Blackwood, as well as I can photograph it. The effect in person is rather subtle, and changes as you rotate the handle in the light.

See ya at the Fair.

Hope you like these, more to come later.

those knives are HUGE!

Hugely nice, that is:)

Beautiful work John. Would you be willing to take a close up pic of the african blackwood? I've never heard of birdseye blackwood and am very interested. Thank you.

Wow, those are gorgeous, and two of my favorite handle materials. Bet they won't last long, lol...

Thanks for the pics John.

Muddy,

I'll try to get a close-up of the "Birdseye" blackwood tomorrow, tho it'll probably take skills better than mine. I've only found one piece in the six years of buying blackwood for handles, and heard of only one other. ( Got enough for two more handles)

Two great looking fileworked framers, excellent materials used.
I like the sheaths as much as any I've seen from Paul.
Don't think they'll last long either.
