Thanks for looking!

Okay...what's the secret handshake? 253 views and 0 comments. Is it ugly knives, mundain style, too high priced, bad photography or because I'm unknown and new here?
Curiosity killed the cat....but I can take it...what is my shortcoming here?
Thanks,
Jim

I think they look great and the price is more then fair. If I hadn't just made a purchase I'd jump on that stag. The black ash burl is nice looking too but I'm not partial to serrations.

Good luck with them!

Very nice handle work. Very nice blade work. Speaking only for myself, the blade shape does not "hit me". However I am partial to hunter and drop point styles. There are enough varied knife worshipers out here that the blade shape and style are exactly what they like.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Very nice pieces of art.

They're both sweet knives, but the stag is definitely my favorite. Beautiful knife!

...Principally, it's very soon after the (for most of us) very expensive holidays, and people are doing a lot more looking than buying. I know I can take responsibility for at least some of those views--I've looked several times, and from different IP addresses. :)

Great work! I really like the back-swept guards in particular--I wish more makers would do it.

Thanks for the nice comments, I was afraid I had committed some unwritten phoopa! I am glad to find someplace after being knife nuts all my life and building for 18 years that has people as crazy about knives as I am. I hope to put some of my knives in a few members hands so that there is some endorsement for my work. I know this is the worst time of year for most folks, I'm just glad you like my work!
Thanks for looking,
Jim

Jim,
Your work looks very clean, well executed and precise. I really like the top one. Red spacers with stag is one of my favorites. Nice hidden tang knife and worthy to be proudly owned. Unfortunately I just shelled out over 500.00 today for my kid's schooling but keep posting your work, it's good. Like the sheath too.

That top knife is a jawdropper in my opinion, I just simply don't have the money currently. I have looked at that about a dozen times.

If it's still here in about a week, I'd like to take it off your hands sir.

Don't be discouraged, your work looks great.

Do you do your own heat treating?

BladeGoblin, thanks for the nice comments! If it's still available I will be happy to fix you up. Yes I do my own heat treating, have for 13 years with the same Evenheat oven, it's been a great oven. I do a double temper on them after heat treat. I am a Research and Development analyst at Spirit AeroSystems which use to be Boeing Commercial and had a great heat treat lead in the shop for some 20-30 years teach me.
I'm not discouraged, probably just anxious to be a part of what appears to be a great bunch of knife crazy folks.

I have to agree with Bladegoblin - the stag handle is truly a jaw-dropper! My wife even commented on it when she was walking past last night. Truly a work of art. You do excellent work:thumbup:

Thanks Bennett, like other makers here, it's my passion and I try to let that come out in my work.

God Bless!
Jim

Its beautifully executed work, just not to my taste. You may have more luck with Drop points & Scandi here I think as its not a solely Hunting group. You may want to post pics in the Gallery section too (Under 'General') as I think this part of the forum doesnt get as much traffic as you may suspect.

Wow Jim- This is terrible- those are beautiful knives that under normal circumstances wouldn't last a day- Everybody's Broke!
Don't worry- they'll soon be selling as fast as you can post them here- it's really nice work!
Best Regards,
Mike
