I just dropped an order to the folks at NGK for a fully serrated, yellow FRN Pacific Salt and a plain-edge Caly3; these are late Christmas presents to myself, as I sold my BM42 because I just didn't like it (a shocker, I'm told). I should get them in a couple days, I was wondering what everybody thinks of them; I've seen opinions in the forums before but I was wondering if anybody got any new developments with theirs. Thanks for the help, stay safe, stay warm, God bless America.

I don't know about the Pacific Salt but the Caly 3, like any calypso knife, is top class. Very nice looking, smoothest opening knife around, and an excellent slicer. Altogether a great knife to have on you all the time.

I have both.

The Caly is a perfect low key EDC knife and the Pacific/SE is THE perfect low to no maintenance knife. Very easy to sharpen and good edge retention as well(the serrated part is very close to VG 10 in terms of edge holding:thumbup: ))

The Pacific/SE is the knife I would choose if I could pick only one to take with me to a desert island (or something);)

Can you elaborate, please?
I'm considering 42 for a long time (but it's price is bit discouraging :() so I'd like to know your experience.

The 42 was a nice knife and real sharp, but it was a pain to strap it on my belt or have it fall sideways in my pocket; it was a very nice knife but too big (in my circumstances) to fit good in the pocket. Also, I tend to wear sweatpants a lot so, uh, no belt. The fit, finish, and flipping were all good it just wasn't the perfect knife for me. It was probably worth the cash, but I'd rather have a Spyderco. :D

Thanks for clarification :)
