Here's two more with ironwood for a repeat customer. These have to get to him tomorrow for him to ship, so it's once again living with indoor lighting for pics. :( The sheaths are also mostly done (drying right now from the dye and will get oiled tomorrow), and they are my typical simple leather sheath with spring clip.

Both of these sets of ironwood I picked up from Tracy. Some really good stuff he's been getting lately. These scales have some amazing chatoyance when in the sunlight!

The specs are 5/32" CPM154, 3-1/4" blade, 7-1/2" OAL, and desert ironwood scales with black vulcanized spacers. The blades are full flat ground and hand finished.

Here's the second one; same specs as the first:

The angle on the pics makes the blades look a little hump-backed, and that's because there is a very small swedge on either side of the blade running most of the blade on the spine. Just enough to knock h sharp edges off.

As always, comments and critiques welcomed. Thanks for looking!

Nathan, absolutley perfect again from what I see. I think those are the definition of simple elegance. And simple is not a criticism.

I work with ironwood a lot so I know what you mean about the pics. Even pics in good light doesn't do most of that stuff justice.

Nice work.

Not much to critique that's for sure. Love the ironwood, it looks like exhibition grade.

It is indeed exhibition grade. Good stuff, though pricey. I've got the sheaths all finished up. I'll see if I can snap some better pics in more natural lighting this evening before I deliver them. These pics are just a little orange to me and don't reflect the ironwood's character well.

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

Man, those are great looking knives! Have you ever used a grey card to set your white balance? It's simple and will give you perfect color every time. (not trying to hijack your thread, but it will help with your color problems)

I haven't tried messing with the settings too much. It's my wife's camera (a Canon Rebel), so I'll have to fiddle with it sometime. I usually use indirect natural light, and it comes out more true-to-color. Thanks for the tip!

Great work as always Nathan, and the Ironwood is gorgeous! Do you use any wax on it, or just the hand sand/Danish oil/buff procedure you've described here previously?

Just the sand, oil, buff method for these, Paul. I've been meaning to try out some wax one of these days. I'm glad you like them!

Nice blades. I especially like that second one. Makes me want to get some of that ironwood from Tracy as well!

who is tracy and how does one get into contact with him or her? i am interested in making a matching set of knife handles and grips for my new vaqueros.

thanx

Beautiful Knives ... Anyone would be proud to own one. I hope to be able to turn out knives of that quality some day.

Couldn't really get any better pics of the wood prior to delivering them, but here's a few pics of one of the sheaths. Both sheaths are the same made from 8oz. leather with a steel spring clip.

Nathan, for shame! I can't believe you delivered those! Now for a small fee I will hide those from the public and keep your reputation intact :p

Lovely lovely package. Does Tracy have blocks as well? That's very nice DI
