In Florida, there are many areas where Deer Moss, or Deer lichen grows on the forest floor.
This is an excellent tinder, and will burst into flame with a hot spark.
we have a couple of tree hanging lichens, go by various names, but they do make a good tinder
if they happen to be a little damp, the sap from various fir trees rubbed into them helps things along (just lance one of the sap "bubbles" and rub the lichen w/ it)
tree frogs are VERY hard to find, I've always been amazed at the sometimes deafening chorus and yet still not being able to find one
