Just got a pair of knives in the mail - A Hogue EX-01 and a Spyderco Paramilitary 2. These are some extremely impressive blades!
 I can't wait to really put them through their paces.
IMHO, the Hogue wouldn't win any beauty contests, but the fit and finish are really something else on this blade. It's pretty rare to see a knife built to such tight tolerances - absolutely no blade play but still extremely smooth in every way, with a good detent and a very nice locking mechanism. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the safety, which I find to be a bit pointless. It certainly doesn't get in the way of this awesome lock, though - I love knives that make for easy one-hand closing. The blade shape is pretty ideal for me, and the stonewash finish is really well executed.
NOTE: I do have a recommendation for all EX-01 owners, though. If ever you get it in your head to disassemble the knife (especially the safety mechanism), just DON'T. There are a whole bunch of little bitty parts that are machined to such tight tolerances as to make reassembly a real gong-show.
There's not much that can be said about the Paramilitary 2 that hasn't already been said. Suffice it to say that it's one damn fine knife - I'm really impressed with the ergonomics above all. Spydercos tend to be a little hit-and-miss with me in terms of how well they fit in my hands (I hated the ergos of the Endura and Tenacious but I love the ergos of the Manix 2 and the Para 2), but this one might as well have been made for me. I can't believe I waited this long to get one of these suckers!
