Wanted to put up my newest finished knives for some feedback. Looks like im going to wait on some new equipment and a little more practice with fit and finish before i offer knives for sale, unless someone disagrees:D they are 5160 spring steel, double tempered to straw/light yellow in my kitchen oven then tempered slightly purple along the spine. im not 100% on the woods, they were given to me. the small one was burl, maybe walnut? the other is walnut or maple or something...IDK.

They look fun. I like the filework on the top of the larger knife kinda like ssss . But I would sugest looking at the other knives for sale on this site for the most part it is all amazing stuff. I have been forging for years but have yet to put anything for sale on here. When I found this site I realized just how far I still have to go. These guys are all great and the more time you spend reading about how the do stuff the more you will learn. At the same time you may find a nich market with reanactors If you dont want to refine all that much. Good luck and I hope to see more work. Will Crump

thanks. i plan to refine more and keep my style too. i'll keep my eyes open for such niches, i thought there may be one here but i dont think im up to par yet. oh well, more users im happy to keep. i think my work is something like rik palm's beautiful work, but i need to refine. instead of buying more tools with money from selling knives, i think i'll be getting a job haha.

any other pointers are welcome. what needs atention, keeping in mind i like the rustic look. thanks.

Nice stuff lou. Love the little filing details on the handle. Some advice on thr handles... Looks like the coating is applied pretty thick. Try doing a few more, thinner coats and it will come out smoother and more consistent. Maybe the ripply look is what your going for though, and it does kinda tie in with the rustic look on the knife. Good work.
