Welp, finally got home after training all weekend then heading to NYC on business.

Waiting for me were two awesome blades. The Scott Gossman PSK, Jr., which is a custom configuration that Kevin Estela kindly sold to me. It is a dream daily-use blade in the woods. You guys saw Brett (bdws1975) and his video of the awesome strength of the little PSK. Thank you, Kevin!

The second is a large Tiger Knapp knife, made from 4140 steel (from saw blades the makers say). It is one of the most hair-scaring razor sharp blades I've held in a long time! This knife was a gift from one of our forum members, who is becoming a good friend. He wishes to remain anonymous, so I must respect that. But, my friend, thank you so much for gift! It's a beautiful blade!

Here's a pic. SAK Rucksack at top for scale, Gossman PSK, Jr. in the middle, and the Tiger Knapp at the bottom:

Knives look great. I'm really having to convince myself not to get a psk. They look like awesome little knives. The tiger knapp looks good as well. Its a Blind Horse knife correct? My birthday was last week and I already ordered 3 knives and used "presents to myself" as the excuse. Don't know if I could make it 4...or 5.

This PSK knife is my new daily carry. I can't NOT use this puppy! Scott, amazing work, my friend!

I have a small tiger knapp sitting right next to me as I type this, It could shave my arm hair right out of the box!

Great little knife and good companion to my Mora. I'm 2 for 2 in selecting cheap knives that kick ass.

nice little catch you got there Brian....;)

you must have been a good boy this year so far!

That PSK will FREAKING BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!

I promise.

With no disrespect to the person who gave me the Tiger Knapp (TK), and no disrespect to the maker of it, the TK is not in the same league as the PSK. Scott's blades are all-star, world-series, major-league, and the TK is in the minors. However, the TK looks to be a great all-around blade and for the money, it does kick ass in fit, sharpness, and finish..

oh man, I could not agree more! I think the TK are like 20.00. Not expensive, but a fun knife to use i'm sure.

I for one am COMPLETELY 100%, TOTALLY, sold on scott's knives. I am so impressed with his fit&finish, attention to detail, etc.

Plus, he's a great guy.

Enjoy both, but BEAT THE SNOT OUT OF THAT PSK!!!!! (not that Scott warranties against excessive abuse)

:D

New knives are good! Thanks for sharing the joy! Nothing like coming home to some fun blades:thumbup:

I'll be taking them out so they can pose sexy for pics in the woods. But only one at a time. It's the PSK tomorrow. I'll make the PSK do nasty things to timber, like it's supposed to. It's supposed to be wet and nasty, pouring rain tomorrow. I'll use my PSK to make an emergency shelter to demonstrate it's versatility and strength, then take pics if I don't drown or break my camera.

Brian remember as you drive South that there is a major FUBAR near Philly concerning I95. Seems one of the supports for the highway is self destructing; and it was found by a sharp eyed inspector who decided it needed a checkup since he noticed it last October with a wee crack.

I like that Gossman. I don't have any.

You need one bear...I picked mine up right off my front door step.....;):p

but seriously, with all your use, you would have a blast with it. I bet you could really give us an awesome review man!

Brett

They both look perfect. The Gossman looks so handy, and the tiger one is wild!

Your moderator says that each of you must have a Gossman knife.

It really comes alive in the hand -- it has a presence! Amazing, amazing, amazing!

The little Gossman seems like a good starter. I liked that video you did of it. Caught the Borat nuances too. I always say people who haven't seen Borat will never understand me.

The doorstep is a great place for finding knives.

Brian,

Glad you like the knife. For those of you interested, the guy who did the handle work on Brian's PSK jr. is named Greg Haugh. He told me the other day he will be featured in an upcoming knife magazine. He has done a bunch of knives for me and is a top notch craftsman. His website is www.loneridergrips.com and he is a total knife/gun nut. Scott's seen his work and has given his seal of approval. Greg couldn't have been more thankful and humbled by Scott's vote of confidence.
