I've finally finished a couple more, since I work outside the winter cramped my 'shop time' :) Both are 3/16" 1075 from Admiral. The clip point/micarta is about 10 1/4" overall, 5 1/4" tip to scales. The trailing point/mesquite is right around a 1/4" longer. I haven't put the final edge on or made sheaths yet, still working on finishing the mesquite. I still haven't decided if I want to leave the etched finish on 'em, though I do like the way it shows the hamon on the trailing point.

At least my pictures are getting better, the scratches show up more:foot:
As always, comments and criticism is appreciated

I like the overall shape, especially the black handled one. Would make a good skinner.

What grit did you take them down to?

I brought the blades to 400 grit on the sander, but from the looks of it I need to go back to 120 and start over:o. The handle scales I take to 220 and then stain, steel wool, and seal.

Thanks for the compliments!

I use wd40 and steel wool to remove some of the etch darkness and leave more contract to the hamon. you can work around the hamon line and lighten up the areas covered by the clay.
