Dearly Beloved,
We are gathered here today to sell two new work hawks. I have one available with smooth (semi-polished) olive canvas micarta slabs and a very special crossdraw sheath. That's right, the hawk can be carried on the belt and used to draw cut like a proper sword :) The other hawk for sale is a nice lightweight version with tan paracord wrap and a buckle retention sheath.

"The original idea for this hawk started a few years ago when I began investigating the concept of a single tool for backpacking and bushcraft. There are quite a few "tactical" tomahawks around, but I was always shocked to see that they were so heavy, not usually ground for chopping wood so much as people/tanks/helicopters, and generally unwieldy for normal outdoor use. I wanted to get as much chopping power into a 1lb tool as possible without sacrificing the ability to do all of the basic camp chores and more or muddying the design into a gimmicky survival tool. Eventually, the Work Hawk was born."

These hawks are finished with gun blue, which I consider a nice compromise tool finish. It's easy to touch up if desired, but looks good while taking a beating. The gun blue has been applied in 5 cycles, and finished with Birchwood Casey Barricade, a lightly penetrating oil which provides a good deal of rust protection. These hawks are meant to be used, and the finish reflects that. Nothing leaves my shop without being sharp as hell.

Steel: .25" 80CRV2 @59RC, 47RC Tang
Heat treat by Peter's
Handle: Semi-polished olive Micarta, sandblasted aluminum chainring bolts, G-Flex epoxy. The Micarta is loive drab but shows some straw brown coloration in between some of the green, I find it very attractive.
Finish: Oiled Gun Blue
OAL: 12.75"
Edge Length: 3.75"
Weight: I will add the weight later today, but approx 21oz
Balance: centered between the top two bolts - this means the tool is balanced when gripping almost all the way up, making it very comfortable for carving and other smaller work.
Sheath: This is a very special one-off sheath. I banged out a bronze belt loop for the proper angle of waistband carry so the handle tilts forward just enough. The hawk rides very comfortably at about 10 o'clock on the non-dominant side. The hawk can be used to draw cut by simply unclipping the buckle and levering the handle upwards to begin the cut. I may make another crossdraw sheath for these in the future, but this is one-of-a-kind.

The price of this Work Hawk is $385 (via Paypal, includes USPS Priority Mail to the CONUS). First "I'll take it" gets it.

The handle color shows up a little more accurately in this video:

I know it is not the intended purpose, but just to clarify, would it still effectively pierce through an armored tank in the event of an emergency? Jokes aside I love the concept. How thicks the steel?

Lol, it will definitely hack through the most advanced armored vehicles of the 5th century. The steel is .25".

Beautiful work Park, I too love the bronze. I wish more makers would explore it, and it's uses.
Thanks, Neal

Thanks, Neal! It's very versatile and beautiful, I'm surprised to not see it more on mid-level customs.
