Here are a couple of old Nepali swords, about 200 years old. I would like to see the hamon on these and I wonder if there are any kamis left today who can make these. They look pretty respectable to me and these two were battle tested by Jung Bahadur Rama with good success.

Will, I'm not sure. I have seen all these weapons in person but this memory is not that good. It looks like that might be some sort of single shot deal near the handle. I'll admit that would be a very handy thing to have available in heated combat.

They do have an attitude, Steven. I would love to be able to do a little testing on those blades.

Will, do you mean the bottom sword is kinda... bayonette?

Quite different battle circumstances they were in!

The sword looks like it has a small single shot mounted on it.

It might be quite useful at sword distances.

So the arguement on "Gun or Knife?" comes to end. The answer is " together". All the Americans must have known the answer since long ago, as said "United we stand, devided we fall."

Only one small fear left... What if the BLADE itself were the projectile?

I know that a lot of British Navy officers had Cutlasses fitted with flintlocks, and it became quite popular in the 18-19th century to have swords with guns built into them.
