Hello guys , I would like to offer you 2 puukkos that I just finished.
First one is classic tommi shape with birch bark handle and elmax blade. The bark provides good traction even when it's wet and has warm feel. Have in mind that the blade thickness is 3.8 mm (0.15") and not 5 mm(0.2") whitch makes it more of a cutter and not ideal for heavy stresses on the blade. I didn't ground flush the peened tang on the buttcap and left it visible.
The second puukko is with shorter blade meant as a wood carver. The blade is N690 and the handle i Ipe wood. It has a mosaic end cap and the sheath is with lanyard for the neck. They both fit tightly in their sheaths.
Steel - Elmax 61 HRC.
OAL - 218 mm (~8.5").
Blade - 104Х22Х3.8mm (~4x0.9x0.15") rhombic grind with micro secondary bevel.
Blade finish - p 800.
Handle - birch bark and bronze.
Leather sheath with wooden inlay.
Weight with/without sheath: 98/145 grams.
