Very nice work on both of them. Just a little clerification, is the price for both or one? Not for me but for others in case.

Thank you

Thanks!

My apologies. The price is for each individually. I will edit the main post to clarify this.

Very nice David. The Burgandy one in particular came out very well. the handle has a fair curve to it. could you post an in-hand pic to show how it sits in the hand ?
Congratulations on beginning this challenging path. Everyone of the accomplished makers who post here were once just beginning, as you are now. Keep on making folders and before that long you'll be one of the accomplished makers.

David I like the fact that being a saddlehorn theres enough blade to grip without
using the nail nick, as roland said above keep at it.
Ken.

David these look great. Keep at it! BTW: I really enjoyed your WIP on these, or some others like them.

O.K. David, I can't hold off any longer. I'll take the Burgandy knife please.
My shipping is USA.
THANKS ! Neat !

I picked up my burgandy Saddlehorn yesterday and immediately got so excited and enthused that i couldn't post anything sensible last evening.
So, it's morning now and here goes:
Great Knife ! Simply put: David's "got it". I would never have thought that this knife was from a maker who to this point has only made a few folders. I actually feel badly because David's price undervalues his skillful work. He deserves more than i paid, but i am going to rectify that today.
The overall design is right-on; pleasing to the eye and natural in the hand.
The fit of all components is very good. Not quite up to a Halfrich or Davison, or Erickson as examples, but nothing to seriously detract from my pleasure of ownership. The finish of handles, bolsters and blade are all top notch.
The blade action is 'buttery smooth'. The spring tension is a bit light but i expected this as David rated the pull as a "3", which i agree with. I'm sure his subsequent knives will have a slightly stiffer pull. However this knife's function and my enjoyment of it, is not affected by the easy pull.
Now for the best part: Stupid Scary Sharp ! Even sharper than my Halfrich and Menefees which are Scary Sharp. Not all knifemakers can put a truly great edge on their knives. Add David Schott to your list who can and does.
Summary: I am surprised and thoroughly pleased that i took a chance and bought this knife from an established knifemaker but one who is new to making folders.
"Old Dogs" watch out. If David continues devoting his time, enegy and considerable skill to making folders, you're going to have a new dog biting your heels within a couple of years.
'Nuf said. If the white Saddlehorn is even close to this one, it's a super good deal.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone and thanks for the kind review, Roland!

The ivory micarta is still available. I reduced its original price down to $250 as I'd like to get these first few into the hands of collectors.
