Two SBJ's...subtle differences.

That green is very nice looking, I think I need one for my chestnutbone SBJ ^^

Thankyou for sharing

Thanks for all the thoughts, guys. And thanks Tony for confirming what I figured..that it is the finishing that accounts for the variance. It's nice to know that an actual person had their hand in the making of the knife and that each one is a little different. I'm two for two, now. The green color is really growing on me. I'm not sure if I'll regret the steel...I do really like the CV, but time will tell. Both of these knives are still close to new.

There is quite a bit of difference in those, from the curvature of the handle to the overall width. The green one looks more rounded at the end also, whereas the chestnut is more lopsided.(in a good way) It even looks like the chestnut version is just a tad longer, but that may just be from the angle of the pics and the positioning of the knives.

I was a little apprehensive about getting stainless on my cayenne bone SBJ after using carbon steel pretty exclusively for the past couple years. I'm liking it more than I thought I would. Even though it's not the best steel out there it's more than adequate for my needs. I don't regret getting it at all.

I used it some today and I agree, the stainless ain't bad. Thanks to all for helping me prove to my wife I'm not crazy. (I can't believe she thinks there is no difference). ;)

I just bought one of those. It's a great little knife but I sent it back to Case for some work. There was a great difference between each side of the handles and the tip of the blade was almost touching one of the liners. I just got a postcard from Case yesterday telling me they received it and will be 6 to 8 weeks before I get it back.

I was unhapp with mine also, one of the brass pins was frayed and sharp. I am tired of shipping third knife back to the factory. I fixed it myself. I also decided to look at oher brands because of it. I found a couple of BullDog wharncliffs that are pretty one being the Seductres, In Ivory, wow.

That's one of the neat things about knives like this. As has been said many times, there is a touch of humanity in there. I was a bit surprised about how different they were, too, though. Not disappointed by any means, but surprised.

Exactly. There is the human touch there which is awesome!

Is there a weight difference too?

Sorry, I have neither a sensitive enough scale or fingers to answer this. I'd think the green is a little lighter as it is smaller all around, but I can't say for sure.

I only own one SBJ and it is the Bermuda Green like yours. Very nice knives but just a tad too small for me.

The first I bought was a SWG pocket worn red bone. I love it. Danty, thin and nice looking knife. Then I bought a SWJ in the chestnut and CV. I handled 3 different knives before buying. On the first one the jigging looked like it had hung up in the jigging machine on one scale. It had a deep cut all the way across the scale. The second was so ill finished at the but it was pathetic! Instead of making a smooth transistion from the back spring around the top, it was sharp and lop sidded! The one I bought is a beauty though. I have just about gotten to the point that I will only buy a G10 model sight unseen!

Just curious about others'

Weigh in at my place came up with Bermuda Green 60g. Chestnut Bone 62g. Very slight difference there. I do notice the pins seem broader on my BG than on the CB.

These knives are a must in any collection in my view.
