These are full customs, ground from bar stock, my heat treat, my sheath work. Prices include sheath and shipping. I accept paypal or check/mo, checks to clear before shipping. I might take knifemaking stuff in full or partial trade. Make me an offer if you've got something.

First, a Spicewood Special in D2 steel at 60 RC with a 400 grit hand finish. Handle is bocote with dovetailed stabilized amboyna bolsters and red liners. OAL is 7 3/4, blade is 3 1/16. Sheath pictured is my work as well. Price is $250. Spicewood, TX is where my great grandparents farmed, and one of the places I still hunt.

Second, a one-off similar to the Spicewood but with a different handle contour. Steel is D2, 400 grit hand finish. Tang is slightly tapered. Bolster is mesquite, dovetailed, with a stabilized spalted hackberry handle. I cut the hackberry from a stump in my parents' back yard in Round Rock, Tx and had it stabilzed by Faron Moore. OAL is 7 3/8, blade is 2 7/8. Sheath is pictured. $SPF

I am in Round Rock and the next time you come visit the family, ping me. I have a place in Paige and we can go shoot hogs. Love the blade shape of these knives. It is a shame D2 and I have a love hate relationship.

It's nice to see skinning knives designed by someone who has used them! Unless you're skinning a buffalo, this is what they should look like. Beautiful work! - John

I like the spalted hackberry knife but w/ the red spacer and other sheath. Very nice work all around--nice size, shape, sheaths. L
