One of my more popular knives. A handy size skinner that makes a good all around hunting or camp knife.

1/8 inch ATS34 heat treated to Rc 58-60
Both are hollow ground
The top knife is mirror finished, the bottom was left with the mill texture on the flats and a scotch bright finish on the grind.
Cocobolo handles
Overall length: approximately 8 1/4 inches
Cutting edge: +/- 3 5/8 inches
Hand sewn leather scabbarD

THE MIRROR FINISHED KNIFE IS SOLD ( Mill finish is still available)

$125 each delivered to the US or Canada. Paypal or money order accepted. I will take your check if you don't mind waiting for it to clear before I ship.

GL-Paypal on the way! I've changed my mind and I'd like the one with the polished blade instead! :D
Thanks!

For a second, I thought those were two of your "famous" (infamous) $60 knives and the price had jumped up! (Look a lot alike!)

Nice lookin' skinner's tho!

Great pair of classic GL Drew knives. Doesn't get any better than that. Keep them coming all year long is all I can say

Just wanted to add this note.

I purchased a knife from Mr. Drew this weekend in Greensboro that I think is going to be my new favorite hunting knife. Also while I was buying this knife Mr. Drew gave my four year old son a small pocket knife. He asked me if it was okay first and then told my son he could have it when he got old enough. That meant a lot to my little boy to get a knife like daddy, and I thought it was very thoughtful. I'm pretty sure this was not my last knife from him.

Gerry, I'm liking the mill finish on that blade. Kind of a departure from your usual work, but I think it fits very well. Good job on both!

I've got one of the "60 Dollar Knives" from the last batch, i love it. This man makes knives with a fantastic fit, finish and feel.

Gerry-word from the home front is the knife arrived today. Can't wait to get home to pick it up. Thanks!! :D

Ok, what is a "scotch bright finish on the grind"? This looks like a real departure from your normal polished finish.

Sorry, that was a knife makers term and I shouldn't have used it. The hollow grind was finished with an abrasive for a matt finish as apposed to a mirror finish. This knife with this finish was very popular at a show last week-end probably because it was different that the norm.

Keep that rig between the white lines Jason and let me know what you think of the knife when you get home.

Ah, now I understand. I can see that in your photos now that I know what it is. The rough texture on the flat part of the blade is similar to an old knife I got from my grandfather.

THought these were both sold, but looking again, The "scotch" finished one is still available??
Looking at the mirror finished one, it seems that the top edge is ground along the top of the hollow grind area. is that the case? Can the other knife be made to match that?

The knife with the mill finish is still available. I can put a clip on the top of that blade too if you are interested.

The "mill finish" skinner is still available. Here is another (better?) photo.
