Two sub hilt with staghorn

Fantastic knives and work. I'm with The Virginian on the brute de forge, I just am not a fan.

 Those are just inanely beautiful!! I just can't fathom how you seem to make such incredible blades, (and of this size) with such perfect attention to detail and perfect they always come turn out, as well as the large and finely detailed gorgeous sheaths.. so quickly! How do you do it man!?! ;) lol Any chance you could tell us what you used to dye the stag and where one could buy it? :D Thanks for always sharing your incredible work with us, and as often as you do! :)

ETA: Do you hot blue your blades? Just curious as to how you're able to get/keep the carbon steel core so dark.

Hi Paul,
The stag dyed it with permanganate. We have a supplier here in Argentina. Deer comes from the Andes Mountains. Let me tell you it is not easy to get good quality. Much of the kilos that I buy is discarded.
Carbon steel san mai is revealed with ferric perchloride.
Marcelo, our youngest brother, is in charge of making the sheaths.
Thank you!
Claudio

Very nice Claudio! I love the knife you made for me and appreciated your prompt communication.

Is this Sambar stag you are fitting or from another area?

Mike

Hi Mike,
The Stag is in the same area. Just different part of the horn. These knives are very big, you can only use the thickest part.
Thanks,
Claudio

Simply splendid Claudio = I had no idea that stag could get that big

The transition between the stag and sub hilt is really flawless. Your work is always impressive

Well, I am late to the party I guess.......but I am very impressed!

Don't know how I missed this thread earlier:eek:

If I had to pick...I like the bottom one (in first picture) just a teeny bit more -

but if either of these showed up at my house they would never leave :D

Super work Claudio

Just wanted to say these Two Beauties arrived today. I absolutely Love the way they turned out. They are Big, Bad and Beautiful, They exceeded my expectations, the Blade, the Handle, the Sculpted Guard, and its Scary sharp and I have the Nick to prove it. I am a Wood Guy and Claudio talked with me and it was deceided to go with Stag and I am thrilled with it. Today USPS brought me the package ( Claudio shipped it 10 days ago ) when he handed it to me one side of the box was crushed, I sign and checked it out. There was a sticker that read: Damaged in Transit, please except our apologies, Rewrapped and Repaired in Tenn. Luckily all was well and not a scratch or ding anywhere. So a Big Thanks to Claudio, Ariel and Marcelo.
