I was racking my brain today trying to remember what actors were in a couple of survival movies that I remembered watching when I was a kid. I don't recall either be amazing, but I remember some interesting points.

After some google adventures, I found the movies:

Survival Quest with Lance Henriksen and White Wolves: A Cry in the Wild II with Mark Paul Gosselaar.

Had to search like hell to find em! Anyone seen these/remember these? Thinking of hunting down the VHS copies to see if they're any good.

Oh it's funny how you mention this as I started watching Survival Quest last night after watching Shoot To Kill with Tom Berenger and Sidney Poitier.

I had not seen either and they are both at Netflix.

Yeah, Shoot to Kill has some survival moments in it. Building that snowcave was pretty cool.

I've never heard of them, I'll have to check em out. A real good movie that I haven't seen in a long time is finally coming on TCM "Naked Prey"

very little dialog movie, nice cinematography, well acted and good story; check it out, it's in a day or two...

I saw both those on amazon last night! I was looking for the movie adaptation of hatchet, "a cry in the wild", It was like 80 bucks used.:(
My cousin actually has survival quest, I saw 30 minutes of it, a bit cheesy 80s movie but still cool. I have to borrow it from him.
While on the topic I will throw in another one I remembered, a french production documentry called "the last trapper", very cool, he and his dog team fall through the ice and has to make a fire, I guess that was staged but it showed how close you are to the brink in northern Alaska. The same cousin owns that one too, I have a burned copy someplace.

Thats funny because after I mentioned My Side of the Mountain on the books/movie thread I added it to my netflix and watched it last night. A few fun moments fairly cheesy. I learned that if I want to survive in the wild I should climb to the top of a cliff and rob a baby falcon from the nest to do my hunting for me.

I bought Survival Quest in VHS a few years ago at a pawn shop and have most if not all thw White wolf stuff in DVD that I got fron the cheap bin in Wally World. I do find some god survival films on amazon as well.
