Well Danny, if you're ever in the neighborhood, you bring the sake, we'll get feeling cocky go choppy choppy and sing Bo Jange;)

Beautiful place HD. I've got my grandads place in Mississippi to look forward to. It's 120 acres, and I grew up building forts all over it. There is no part of the woods I can't tell you stories about. Land in that part of Mississippi isn't expensive, but someday I'll share it with my sister. (My family has protected it from logging and selling outside of the family.) I dunno though, property rights are a thing of the past. If they can squeeze a set of condos there and increase the tax base you loose your land.

Lord, please help us to retain our 2nd amendment rights and to regain our property rights before we need to get all 2nd amendment.

Amen brother.

My wife and I were talking about the fact that trade with China was originally sold as a way to promote democracy in that country. However China has proved that a repressive government and reducing individual rights is more compatible with capitalisim than a Democratic one is and with all the worker rights and property rights intrusions and wiretapping stuff OUR government is getting more like THEIRS!!!!

I have many internet friends from MS and I have always wanted to go there. Especially check out the countryside. We in WV feel a special affection for MS. If it wasn't for MS we'd be on the bottom of everything. MS has more of a fundamentalist approach to their public health and social services though so they are usually considerably worse off than we are on teen pregnancy, std's and infant mortality. But we are always neck and neck on unemployment and mean average wage:(

Beautiful Hollow.

Mom's from Morgantown, and Dad's from Carbon/Cabin Creek. I've spent some wonderful times in your beautiful green state.

Almost heaven.

Steve

That's a beautiful view Hollow.

Bob Ross was a genius at making people feel better and healing them- just in his voice and presentation. I think that man was a gift.

Agreed!

HD, my boss is Chinese and makes the same argument you have. I don't disagree. It's strange to think that its coming down to sandbagging your windows and loading up the arsenal, or loosing it forever. Our forefathers predicted it could happen. I hope I have the mettle they showed when faced with a superpower's firepower, but I hope to never find out.

On a lighter note, I've never been to WV. My dad says the Virginias are the most beautiful states in the country. You'd love my family's farm. My great grandad bought it when he returned from WWI. He farmed it, but only turned ~60 percent into pastures/fields. I sit at my desk and think of rummaging around that place all the time as a boy. There is one spot I always visit. Its where three generations of trash was burned. Very near the berm we shoot into. There are old bottles of every imaginable size there, and I like digging them up with a stick and collecting them. Some my mom and grandad can identify, and some are a mystery. I took my daughter there and she still talks about it. There is a quietness there that is almost eerie. Its funny how the closest place I can find to family history is in the trash heap! Sometimes I sit down there and just listen to the place. When I was a kid I'd sit on top of the berm and shoot squirrels and rabbits. If I could retire today that's where I'd go, and I don't think I'd ever leave.

Wow. Maybe I'm onto something and not just blowing smoke out my *ss like usual.;)

Actually there was a kind of a thought provoking article I read that got me thinking about it by Robert Reich, who has my vote for the best person that was in the Clinton admin. Check it out:

Sounds like my place. I got like 5 acres of hayfield and maybe 3 acres of pasture and the rest is just woods.

Ok, here's my view. Sorry for crappy quality and the fact the a screen is STILL on the window in Jan.:o
