I recently had the pleasure of working with fine Texax knife maker by the name of Phil Tham (goes by txwoodchip on BFC).
I had stumbled on a thread about a similar piece. Checked out his web site http://www.thamknives.com/ and became further intrigued and extremely interested in the prospects of having him complete a piece for me.
He's a part-time maker and has another job. . .yet he had my knife ready in less than a week !
He was a pleasure to work with and kept me informed of the progress throughout the project. Sent me pics once the knife was complete and he made sure I was completely satisfied with the whole experience. The THANG came securely packaged. . .with shipping that met my needs.
My experience with Phil could not have been smoother. . .nor better !
I just peeked in my little knife-maker book. . .and he has a bold mark under the highly highly recommended column !
Thanks again Phil !
