Type 98 Sword

Any opinions on authenticity ?
Had this one for a while, doesn’t really look like reproductions I’ve seen

I'm pretty sure that is a genuine gray cat....

From what I can see that blade looks Japanese and older than WWII. Just from the look of the tang. You can also see that it was traditionally polished and most machine made blades had a simple etched straight hamon.
