Type Of steel

I have aquired some new steel and don't know what it is. the material came from a mill used to cut rolls of paper towells down to the right length.
Can somebody tell me what this material is?

Hold it up to your computer screen and let us get a good look at it.
Seriously, you haven't told us anything to go on.And any answers would be a guess anyway.Having a piece tested is the only way to know what it is.You can do a series of shop tests and get a idea,but unless you can find out the source of the steel,you are merely guessing.Could be D-2,A-2,or any number of other tool steels and stainless steels.

Not to mention 6k, though it is usually brazed onto a steel backing. Mike
