Congratulation to Tom and all Kershaw team!

Thanks, Vassili.

P.S.
BTW on the page 12 MSRP shown as $89.95 but on page 7 it is $350.

Thanks Vassili!!

Yea Blade Mag. had a misprint on the MSRP with the Tyrad, it is indeed $350.

I know we are working em now, and I'm going out and saying the first articles will ship by late Sept/early Oct.

The Tyrades felt great when I saw them (it) at Blade. Looking forward to this one!

Can someone (Thomas) explain the handle construction of this knife?
The above post says CF inlays, and I guess they would be inlays as I see no screw attachment for them.
But I see no accessible screws for dissasembly of handles either, are they rivited construction with the inlays glued on?
If I can't take a knife apart for maintenance, I usually don't want it, so it is a concern of mine.

How much should a person expect to pay for a full sized, USA made, KO designed, Ti Frame lock with a Carbon Fiber insert, SpeedSafe, Composite blade (154CM/D2), Limited Edition knife?

Seriously, if folks think this technology is too much monies for what it is, I'd like to hear how much MSRP should be.

Certainly we could have made it for cheaper, but I don't think we would have won BM's Overall Knife of the Year if we did.

I think the point is at that price you're well into custom country for a production piece, (i.e. Rick Hinderer comes to mind). Seems to be a tough sell from where I sit ...

I think when considering the price of this knife it is really important to think about what it really is.
It isn't really a regular production knife, bound for a clampack to be hung on a peg, and bought by Joe Average to pry open paint cans.
The Tyrade looks to me to be a statement by Kershaw, to show that they are at the leading edge of technology, and are willing to take the risks that true innovation presents. It is a showcase of what Kershaw can do and will do in the future. Look at it as a way to get something from the future. (Although looking at the prototypes we've seen, not too far in the future).

As Thomas mentioned it is a limited edition knife, with pretty impressive specs, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a production knife with comparable specs and lower MSRP. And of course we don't really know what it will street for, but I would think anywhere from 180 to 240 would be more realistic when it first hits the streets.

Now don't get me wrong, I liked the $89.95 typo too, at that price you could put me down for two or three. :D

Whatever it streets at I'll do what I can to get one, of course the lower the street price, the more other Kershaws I'll be able to afford. ;)

The handle screws are on the backside of the knife, leaving the clean look for the front side. Disassembly will not be a problem.

Really? I am searching all over the internet and the best price is around 180 USD...

i dont think the $350 you guys are going to be selling it for is to high. if it was $400 (i dont doubt that you could go that high) then it may be a problem for me. however, with the street price prolly being alot lower, i cant complain. you wont find a CR Seb. that cheap. why complain?

I have seen the ones to be pre-ordered for around 200. I will buy one, I like the design, the steel the specs. But most of all I like the direction Kershaw is going and I will support that. 5 years ago I would have never considered it, but after owning many newer Kershaws and seeing the quality I can get from a 50 dollar JYDII or an 80 dollar Blur G-2, I can only imagine what a 200 dollar kershaw would bring to the table.

That's true. It's sort of like driving a $2000 '94 Ford Tempo VS: a $30,000 '63 Stingray Corvette (my dream car )...My beater '94 Tempo will (usually) get me where I'm going, but the '63 Corvette would do it "in-style".:D.
