Never got a tracking number from ryan9977. Perhaps ryan could email that to me? That would help narrow things down...
 
This "missing" knife is why I don't care for passarounds. Lets just hope that it will show up soon.
 
hey guys...i sent it to swoop a while ago...i am at work and don't have any of the tracking info with me......i won't be at my house till sunday but i will track the number asap.....i sent it insured with tracking and confirmation so i have all the info....i apoligize for not giving you a tracking number whn i sent it jeremy......i will get you all the info tomorrow wheni get home from work......ryan

spx....i never started a tread about the tyrade for slae because it was actualy for sale on bladeforums as well...i saw it on another forum and didn't realize it was already up for sale here....sorry....ryan
 
Swoop posted in the General Knife Discussion Passaround section. He says it will be going out today. I'll let you guys know when it gets here.
 
I'm thinkin' that from now on, all passarounds should be open only for paying BF members...That way, if there is a problem, that person can be tracked-down, via their membership payment info through Spark.

EDIT 12/22/07: Talked to Swoop and the knife shipped today and he will email me tracking #. Kindredspirits, the knife is en route!
 
Knife arrived! Will probably be busy Christmas Day, but I'll do a review within the next couple days. First impressions: Wow, this is a big and solid knife!
 
Hello to all and my best wishes to everyone.

When I got the soggy package from Ryan(it sure was raining) I didn’t expect a knife that is as large as a Strider.

The fit & finish of the knife is done very nicely. It locks up tight with no horizontal or vertical play. I don’t like the insets on the handle, as mentioned before I also found that the Tyrade was snagging on my pocket and waistband.

I had trouble at first unlocking the blade. I was moving the lock laterally and it sometimes took a couple of tries before it would close. This problem was cured when I realized that if I first pushed downward with my thumb and then laterally the lock would slide over easily.

My first chore for the Tyrade was to cut up the box it came in. I uses it to trim a skirt steak, slice vegetables and to whittle & shave tinder. It performed all tasks easily. The knife is sharp and stayed sharp. My preference goes to lighter folders. I would carry a fixed blade on my belt or in my waistband to do the jobs instead of the Tyrade.

I understand that the blade is constructed using to metals that are joined together using copper. It will be interesting to me to see how these blades hold up over time.

I want to thank nygiantsfan3342 for organizing the passaround and for the opportunity to use this knife.

Maybe I’m wrong, but Ryan sent the Tyrade to me on 12/11. I think I received it December 12-14. I sent the knife out 12/21. I had the knife a total of 10 days or less, I had the knife a couple of days more than the 7 days agreed upon. I should have posted that I received the knife. I want to apologize to all of you that got so concerned about the whereabouts of the Tyrade.

Offsetlover, please send the knife to friz when you get it. Korbiaka already got a Tyrade and is no longer participating in the pass. Thanks!

Hmm... this week went by fast and I realized I never really got to use the knife. Darn timing with the Holidays....

Oh well, this knife is going to go out to ice-pic first thing tomorrow morning. I'll post my review in the review thread shortly.

Hey guys, the Tyrade went out today. I apologize for the delay, I was suffering from a stomach flu and couldn't leave the house for the last couple of days.
 
Tyrade arrived today. I look forward to spending some quality time with it this week!

Sending the Tyrade out today to Tom Krein...some knifemaker or something...hehehe ( I still have to get one of his knives, besides the Dogfish).

I really enjoyed carrying it. A little large for EDC, but very well made and extremely comfortable in the hand.

Had to wait until today to send the knife out...yesterday was a holiday...duh. Knife sent out to Tom Krein this AM.

Just checked USPS website, says that the knife arrived in Gentry, AR on the 25th, so I assume that Tom has it. Have fun with it!
