Before I start my rant, I'll let everyone know that I am a retired Mail Carrier but this is ridicules. I have a knife sent to me by a member here. I assume it must have the wrong zip code on it but that is no excuse for what is happening with it. I live in a small town in N.W. Ohio and we get our mail from Columbus. As you can see it has gone back and forth from Columbus to Lima Ohio 4 different times and then went from Lima to Findlay Ohio which is about 10 miles from me and then back to Columbus where it left today headed for who knows where. In the past year our mail service has been a joke. They cut our P.O. hours from 8 hrs a day to split hours of 8-10 am and then from 2-4 pm. This in itself doesn't bother me so much except for the fact that most people in this small town of 500 have a P.O. box and most days the mail coming from Columbus doesn't arrive and get worked until until after they close at 10 am leaving just a 2 hour window to pick up any packages you have. End of rant lol

Your item was processed through and left our COLUMBUS, OH 43218 facility on April 27, 2014 at 9:27 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

I agree that is a lot of back and forth but I bet if the correct zip code was on it the problem could have been avoided:thumbup:
BTW, this should probably be in feedback or whine and cheese

So close but so far away, hopefully you will have your blade soon!....at least you know your knife made it through the long haul:thumbup:

I really don't know if the zip code was right or wrong but even if it was wrong it should have been corrected after the first mis sending.Wrong zip codes are a fact of life but they should never send a piece of mail on an endless merry go round.

Sent a package two weeks ago and then when did not get there Priority, saw they had entered the zip code as 19958 not 11958 as was on label. 5days delivery instead of 2.

This is not the correct forum for this.

BTW, we bring our children/grandchildren here to show them the old knives.

I ask you to watch your language, abbreviated or not!

Beat me by two minutes.
+1 on both of those comments. I have moved the thread to the Good, Bad, and Ugly Forum and have modified the title to remove the acronym.

My apologies for the abbreviated language. I will not let it happen again but I will guarantee that if your kids go to school or about anywhere out in public they hear much worse than this. That is no excuse for me though, again my apologies.

Ah! Thanks Frank!!

Sent an Xbox from the USPS on base in Mississippi to where I was going to be overseas, and it never made it, last known location was some place in jersey.... Postal worker were absolutely no help, and I never got it.

When I get elected I'm gonna make all the posties wear white Hawaiiain sequinned jumpsuits and dance along the street Elvis fashion delivering the mail.YES.

Did you send it to an APO AE address?

If so, packages are only tracked between the USA address and the New York/New Jersey facilities. Mailing priority only gets you priority to the New York/New Jersey facilities from addresses in the USA (or to addresses in the USA from the New York/New Jersey facilities if mailing from an APO AE addresses). Also such mailings usually take ten days if no crush (like Christmas holiday season).

Sorry to hear about that. I've honestly had better luck with USPS than other services, but I may have gotten lucky. Hope this works out well for you. On an unrelated note, sounds like you're not located too far from me, so hello from one Buckeye to another.

Yes, it was sent to an APO AE, customs form was also filled out. It's been a year and a few months and still no answers on what happened.

I love watching the tracking for a knife and see it just keep going right past you. The address isn't wrong, they just decided to route it via the super saver route and hit up a few additional sorting facilities for no reason. I had one package that was supposed to go through Indianapolis to Anderson and decided to instead keep going on to St Louis. The guy I traded with also had his knife decided to just keep going past his sorting facility too, but the knives eventually arrived.

Not too long ago I traded with a guy in Hawaii and his knife got to me in 3 days... Mine took over 2 weeks to get to him, both shipped priority. I think USPS just rolls dice to determine shipping times.

The worst postal service experience I ever had was when shipping some large fishing poles and reels from Oregon to Pohnpei, Micronesia, both shipped priority in mid-September. (Important detail-- Micronesia does not have its own postal service, the USPS handles mail in that country.) The reels arrived in 7 days, not too shabby. The rods arrived the following April.

Just had another screw up by USPS. I ordered a Kizer knife from Knifeworks and it was dropped off at the sort facility early Thursday... Shipped a few hours ago. I am very anal about watching tracking on everything, and I haven't yet had something wait a day and a half to ship just waiting at the sorting facility. Longest I had something at the sort facility before was most of a day, when it arrived early in the morning and left that night.
