Okay, I have 2 of the full size GRS's with one of them the Friendship Model that Bura came up with in appreciation for HI's loyal customers.
And I have reworked the handle on the GRS-F to better fit my hand. The other one will be modified when I have time somewhen.

It is the khukuri of choice when some Very Serious chopping needs to be done. And Like I have already said,
"I want a Baby GRS one day."

So a couple of questions for those of you who already have them please.

........

What is the handle circumference on these "baby GRS's"?

And will someone or everyone who has one please post the weight of these "little" khukuris.
I know it's probably been posted, but I don't recall the weight and I'm way too lazy to go looking for the possible post.

And with a nice little surprise in some extra funds that came in, it might be sooner rather than later until I am able to get one of these
"Baby GRS Khukuris."

¥vsa, the one I have from last year measures about 3 inches in circumference at the mid handle ring.

Weight is estimated at 1.5 pounds but nicely distributed on this unmarked piece by Bura.

As to whether there will be any variation on the baby GRS that is coming in, I'll have to wait and see.

BTW, why not tease some details from Jim as he gave in to his "HIKV"?

Bill,

What exactly are the differences between the Ang Khola Chirwa and the Ganga Ram Special (in a similar size) in terms of performance?
Thanks in advance.

If I was just coming aboard here I would go for the Baby GRS as my 1st khukuri instead of the 18"AK.
The BGRS is not quite as heavy I think, but the design of the blade makes it a much better chopper imo.
It won't split wood quite as well, but it will fell a tree much quicker.
My 18th Century became my favorite chopper until my YCS got here because of being a better chopper.
The YCS at 1 Lb 6 oz cuts like a heavier khukuri and like the BGRS it isn't as good a splitter, but that's what I prefer to begin with.
I still think everyone should have an AK that fits them though.
I doubt that anyone could hurt any H.I.Khukuri, but the AK is one you know that's indestructible.
Still gotta get me a BGRS!!!
