Here are two 20 inch chiruwa Sirupatis made by two different kamis, Sanu and Kesar. You can clearly see the difference in execution.
The Sanu version (top) is a shade more than 3/8 thick and weighs 2.25 pounds. The Kesar version is 5/16 thick and weighs 1.75 pounds. Both are very well done and up to HI standards in fit, finish and hardness. Kesar made his karda and chakma smaller than Sanu but all these little tools are good quality. Reflections in Kesar version make the finish look a little strange but it is pretty good.
I'd rate the rigs as just about equal in quality. As I've said several times, Kesar is very good on standard stuff so Sanu fans don't be afraid of this one. It's good.
Scabbards are by sarki with no name and very well done. Frog is standard HI 100 year superfrog.
Take either or both delivered to your door for $95 each. Less than five bucks per inch for great and very sturdy Sirupatis.
Call or email if interested.
