I recently saw a post response from a speedy HOG discussing a few sterile blades (multiples of the same model) that had been purchased several years ago, and wondered "for the love of infi--how many does he have!?!":eek:... Which in turn begs the question--which HOGs have the largest collections of Bussekin, and just how large are they??? Top Ten...

With out saying anyone's name but it starts with an E and ends with a R-I-C, ......just say'n ;)

I'm not sure why he was banned, but Liu Kang seems to have more than anyone I've seen....

Look, I'll let you in on a secret... Buy a dozen various Busse knives, bribe Skunk & Jerry with some booze every so often to announce that you scored 27 this or #1 that, get Photoshop... and boom! "Massive Collection". ;)

That's not his collection...that's his inventory. There's a difference. A highly marked up difference...

Ahhhhhh now things make sense a bit more. I'm guessing it was revealed that he was doing it and bam...banned.

I could probably post the same amount of pics with firearms/weapons/ammo...except for me it'd be my collection/supply...

Agreed with Jaxx here, there is a HUGE difference between a collection and an inventory.

The top five of the top ten have been named, but the top ten in general, new and old, will never be in one place at one time, the earths magnetic field could not take the pressure. :p

No, that's not the story of how he became one of the banned ones, its long and sordid and not for the Busse forum, I'd leave it at that. Sorry

Neither you nor anyone else will ever know.

But the answer is: pretty darned big.

In part, it's an insurance issue. My own insurer does NOT like me posting information on my own relatively modest holdings, and I imagine it's the same for my colleagues.

Also, the fun is not in boasting, but in participating.

EDIT: Also, not all the knives are bought in the open. Many quiet transactions go on behind the scenes. And, a true collector's collection is often in flux -- great flux. I've turned over a 'rather large amount' myself.:)

He wasn't banned for selling knives at any cost...it had more to do with his ahem... selling practices. There's no rule that states what we can sell and for how much.
Long story short on Liu Kang. He walked the line concerning BladeForums rules for a very long time while looking to maximize profits on each sale. When it was revealed that he pulled some unethical & slimy deals, BF members got rather angry. He finally crossed the line in a final straw kind of way and got the boot.

Truth, as always from Jaxx.

If anyone is ever unsure whether they're a collector or a dealer ... they're probably a dealer.
 
There are even folks with massive collections that don't ever post here. I think Jerry referred to them as Yeti or Sasquatch HOGs.
It's easy to look like you have a lot in the forums though, and it's easy to liquidate a lot and have very little too. The Ubers are very reserved and don't share much info on their holdings unless you've earned a lot of trust. Maybe not even then.
