UFC Unleashed on spike...Franklin vs Henderson

Amy-O would make a GREAT Ring Lady IMO:D:thumbup: She could walk around every round holding the Prize INFI above her head for all to see:eek: That would inspire even the weakest to GO FOR THE INFI!

Sorry this has to be my first post, but i have to take issue with this moronic statement. Losers? Seriously??? Both of those guys are world class and would be the bejezzus outta most any fighter out there. Who have they lost to? Anderson Silva? Yeah that's terrible when you lose to the absolute best in the world. If you are going to talk about something, at least TRY to act like you know what you are talking about.

Not a great first post, and everyone knows Fedor is "the absolute best in the world"... just kidding who cares, they'd all beat my azz.:D

Yeah, what do I know?

Did not mean for the post to be insulting, just touched on something near to my heart. I am a former fighter (not anybody you would have ever heard of, spent most of the time nursing injuries:-)), and to call guys like these losers would be akin to telling a great maker his knives are amateurish at best, and accusing him of outright design theivery at worst.

Ok, welcome Atama, and glad you could join the fight for INFI here. You have one on most of us, being a former fighter that is; just be respectful of the other folks here as this is mainly a knife forum. Be interesting to hear more of your inside the ring experience in future threads though. Some of my friends in Hawaii are Penn team members.

The guy I learned most of my BJJ from (a Black belt under Lloyd Irvin) has been out to BJ's place to train, and had great things to say about his time with BJ.

Yeah, BJ is a nice guy when out of the ring and very approachable. I could'nt hang around there much longer due to business on the mainland I had to come back for; otherwise I would've been in BJJ's entourage/team camp myself.

Ok. If I had to rate the performance of Henderson vs. Franklin, in knife quality terms, I would say that their performance matched that of Frost Cutlery.

I am going to have to say more like United Cutlery!!:D:p

LOL, or like those "survival knives" you saw when you were a kid at the flea market. Oh c'mon, you all know the ones I'm talking about, it had the compass on the outside of the handle and didn't have enough water in it to get any reading whatsoever. They performed just like that.

Now I don't see it like that guys; after all this is a UFC fight any way you look at it. I mean how many of us are actually capable of climbing in there ourselves and doing a better job then they did? I have no chance without a Busse of winning anything close to that, even after a few years of TK training. Enjoy it for what it is, it sure ain't WWF, and I say that with a bit of background as my uncle was the advertising and promotion company behind WWF for the first ten years of their existence.

Thats why we have opinions.:thumbup::D

I use to be the asst coach of GWU kickboxing team...blah blah blah. over 16 years ago....for a couple years and many pounds ago. THis was all I did prior to Navy for about 4 years. I waited tables, bartended, trained, fought went to school and ran around Georgetown...wrong story:D

anyway

Henderson and Franklin both may have been , but they are no longer.

Franklin, is nowhere near the best in the world. He has good cardio, eats a great diet, is very smart, but not necessarily in the ring.

He is one of the worst punchers Ive ever seen. He has no technique...almost none. He uses only his arms, and they are usually flailing around in no mans land where they leave him vulnerable to counters.

Silva has taken the fight out of Rich and he hasnt looked hungry since the last two whippings.

Silva is as good as he is because his technique is near perfect, and because he is fluid in his transitions between ranges. He uses his hand ,knees elbows and feet. He is competent at every range including grappling.

A lot of MMA fighters are not good in all aspects of their game. They usually really only excel in one.....except Silva, and a few others....as far as I am concerned anyway.

THis is only my opinion.....its not like it means anything. So, Lets drink!
